Team captains must be residents of Summerbrooke or members of the Summerbrooke Homeowners Association.
All team captains will submit a fully completed League Tennis Team Captain Form and are required to accept the terms and conditions on behalf of their team in order to play on the courts of Summerbrooke.
No more than two teams in each league (Men's, Women's, Mixed Doubles) can be accommodated on the two Summerbrooke courts.
Team captains of each league team playing for Summerbrooke must submit their roster of all players to the Tennis Chairperson (via email or printed) their eligibility to use the courts may be verified.A User Fee of $10 will be collected by all team captains from each non-resident playing on each team of each league during each season. Any additions to the roster should be submitted promptly.
The team's home match schedule must be submitted at least one week before the matches begin each season.
Both courts will be pre-booked for the home matches (each team usually plays 3-4 of their 7 matches at home). The practice schedule should be submitted as soon as it is determined. Each tennis team may schedule both courts once a week, Monday through Friday, for up to two (2) hours of practice or lessons beginning two weeks prior to the season. This must be scheduled with the Tennis Chairperson.
In the event of a rain delay, ALTA teams have priority for court use for the pre-blocked period of time. After the pre-blocked time has expired and if a reservation exists, the league team will release the first of the two courts to complete their match play. Additionally, if a reservation exists, no new matches will be initiated after the expiration of the pre-blocked time. The team captain is responsible for contacting those whose reserved time is affected so a copy of the court reservations should be brought to the match site. Rained out matches must be rescheduled by individual team members through the regular reserved court procedure.
Failure to be present within ten (10) minutes after the reservation start period for the day's match will cause forfeiture of the reserved period.
Residents should be given the preferred opportunity to be a member on the neighborhood teams versus non-residents/non-members.
First place teams have priority home court advantage over second and third place teams. If more than one neighborhood league team ends the season in first place and enters play-offs with home court advantage, the team captains will draw straws to determine who will utilize the home courts. Priority for use of courts for second and then third place teams will follow the same procedure above when the courts are available. The other team(s) not winning the draw will be responsible for procuring other courts at their own expense, if any, for play-off matches.
Use of a neighborhood table or the clubhouse area requires completion of a reservation form and the submission of the required forms and deposit. Verification that the team captain's homeowners association membership is in good standing is a requirement for approval. The clubhouse key will be provided no sooner than the day before the match. If reserving a table only, only one table may be reserved so that the other is available for use with the clubhouse should it also be reserved.
Team captains may submit one deposit check for the whole season to be returned, if eligible, upon completion of the season. Team captains may choose to submit a separate deposit check or cash for each day the tables or clubhouse are reserved. A walk through after each reservation date to verify the required cleaning was performed will occur before the deposit is returned. The clubhouse key must be returned after each reserved date.
If a table is used, it must be thoroughly wiped clean and dried and returned to its place in the clubhouse. Cleaning supplies are found in the clubhouse closet.
If the clubhouse area is used, removal of any food or beverage spills from the carpet, vacuuming of the carpet, and sweeping up of food remnants from the outside sidewalk area as necessary is mandatory.
It is also required that any bags of garbage from the trash cans used for the event's are tied up and moved into the garbage bin provided by the City of Kennesaw. No miscellaneous trash should be put directly into the Kennesaw garbage bin without first being in a garbage bag. Garbage bags are found in the clubhouse closet.Team captains are required to check the bathroom facilities after each day's matches to verify they are in working order and are not dirty beyond a normal day's usage. Team captains are responsible for the clean up of the courts, the emptying of the courtside trash receptacles and the cleaning up of any garbage or food remnants from the grassy spectator area.
